The Albanian Nurses Association has expressed its deep concern about the extreme delay in the payment of salaries to healthcare workers.

According to the Association, even though the date is January 22, 2026, the salary for December 2025 has not yet been given to nurses and medical staff.

In a statement to the media, the association highlights the lack of notifications and justifications for this delay, as well as the silence of responsible institutions and unions that usually react only for personal or political interests, failing to protect employees as individuals.

"Even employees remain silent out of fear of constant pressure, including threats of dismissal, while the Ministry of Health has not made any official reaction and only promises salary increases in the form of handouts to shut them up," the Association's statement says.

In its statement, the association sharply criticizes the responsible institutions and unions, emphasizing that their reactions are often selective and linked to political or personal interests, not to the real protection of employees.

The association describes the situation as a recurring problem for years, where the responsibility falls on employees who have to wait endlessly to receive their financial rights. It emphasizes that this situation is shameful, especially after many scandals and unjustified thefts in the health sector, when frontline workers have to work without securing their income. The Albanian Nurses Association expresses the hope that someone will take responsibility for this delay and that the phenomenon will not be repeated again.

REACTION

The Albanian Nurses Association expresses its concern regarding the extreme delay in the payment of salaries to Health workers. Without any notice and without any justification, even though the date is January 22, 2026, the salary for December 2025 has still not been given to Health workers. More shameful than this is the silence that has gripped every individual, employee and institution, and moreover the non-existent unions in Albania that react only when they have personal or political interests in obtaining quotas or funds, but which employees see as a benefit and not as individuals to represent. The silence of the employees themselves who, even when they do not give them their deserved justice, remain silent for fear of the constant pressures that are being exerted on them with dismissals.

And the icing on the cake is the silence of the Ministry itself regarding this concern, not reacting at all and even promising a salary increase in the form of alms or as a way to shut you up.

A problem that has been repeated for years without any responsibility or accountability, and it all falls on employees who keep their eyes on the bank for when their paycheck will be transferred.

It is a shame that after so many scandals in the Health Sector and unjustified thefts, there is still no money to pay the salaries of employees who are on the front lines in every situation the country goes through.

Hoping that someone will come forward to take responsibility for this, we hope that this phenomenon will not be repeated again.
