Arben Ahmetaj was paid expensive trips and accommodation in luxury hotels by Klodian Zoto during different years, but he hid all this and did not declare it in the annual declarations of wealth.
Such an action committed by the former official is a criminal offense, and punishable by law for the charge of false declaration, for which 20 dismissed judges and prosecutors are currently under investigation in SPAK.
But although the evidence proves that from 2013 onwards, the former Minister of Finance and the former Deputy Prime Minister were paid more than 10,000 euros in travel expenses by the accused of the incinerators, he did not declare them in the mandatory annual forms.
It is not yet known why, from 2013 onwards, ILDKPI considered these forms to be regular, for which the sources explained to TCH that the former minister had close ties with family members of the heads of this institution, thus enabling the concealment of assets and gifts.
The latter, in compliance with the regulation on ethics approved by the Rama government, should have been declared by Minister Ahmetaj, who hid gifts such as paying for super expensive hotels in Milan and Austria.
All of which have been proven, but which neither SPAK nor ILDKPKI, which is the High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Control of Assets and Conflict of Interests, saw.
The former minister Ahmetaj was not investigated by SPAK either for the suspected corruption, as long as he appears in the e-mails as being paid by Klodian Zoto, nor for concealment of wealth and false declaration. All the more so because he is ranked as the minister with assets of 320 million, and as the richest minister of the Rama cabinet./ TCH
