Residents of the village of Bërxull came out in protest again today, against the Ministry of Infrastructure and the company "Gener 2", which carried out the works for a period without a construction permit.

The residents, who have been protesting for more than two months, demand that their property be compensated according to the market price, but until today they have not received any response from the state institutions.

Today they are even more revolted than the other days, while they say that there will be no more peaceful protests.

The protesters say that they will protest in front of the buildings of the institutions, including the American Embassy in Tirana.

 "They have continued to legalize the permits, but this does not mean that we will remain silent," said one of the protesters.

"He has not received the construction permit, we will follow him on international roads, up to the highest court", says one of the residents.

"Even though we are entering the 80th day of the protest, no one has given even a single answer, even a negative one. Today we are attacking the one that the state has given a development permit, that it is not in accordance with the contract that it has, that it does not have the development, ownership permit, that is defined very precisely in the contract, as long as it says that it is a contractor and according to the law it must he had prepared the ground a year ago, not today, today they remember to give a development permit", said the village headman.

"Now there is nothing left to turn to Yuri Kim, the American embassy, ​​the state has sold us everywhere", said one of the protesters.

"We will continue to all these institutions so that it is known throughout the world, we will go as far as self-sacrifice", said the resident.

The company 'Gener 2' started the works on the road axis Thumanë - Kashar, still without receiving the development permit, i.e. the document that would define the development conditions and serve as the basis for the construction permit.

In the agenda of the meeting of the National Council of the Territory on December 14, the equipment with the development permit of the concession company "Gener 2" was noted, while the works have started at least since November 20, without having any document that allows the company the beginning of the construction of this road axis.

Residents of the village of Bërxulle have been protesting for more than a month under the argument that the construction company deviated from the initial project, and even went further by blocking the discharge collectors, which caused several hectares of land to be flooded.

Residents also express concern that the value of their land is being minimized and the compensation they receive from the expropriation is far from the real value of the land.

The concession contract for the Thumane Kashar axis is worth 245 million euros. In addition, citizens will also pay a tax for passing by car on this road axis, from which over 1.3 billion euros are expected to be collected during the 35 years of the concession. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Infrastructure guarantees the profit to the concessionaire with a fund of tens of millions of euros.
