The court of Berat has sentenced Belul Kokollari, the 46-year-old accused of sexually abusing his 8-year-old grandson, to 15 years in prison.

The session was held under strict security measures and without the presence of cameras, due to the sensitive issue.

Today, the decision was announced for the citizen from Kosovo, Belul Kokollari, accused of committing a serious criminal offense. The court's decision-making was based on the evidence examined and administered during the trial of this case.

The complaint was made in 2021 at Berat Police Station by the minor's mother. She told the police that her brother Belul Kokollari had abused her nephew.

At that time, she declared that she is a Kosovar citizen married in Berat, where she lives with her husband in the neighborhood "28 Nëntori" and that every 3 months she went to Kosovo to visit her brothers.

In one of these visits on November 4, 2021, she left with her son for Kosovo, where she stayed until November 9, and when she returned to Albania, the son had told her everything.
