Seismic tremors were recorded in the early hours of this Tuesday morning in our country.

According to the Institute of Geosciences, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter in Nikël.

The tremors were felt in the area of ​​Tirana, Fushë-Krujë and Durrës. The earthquake was recorded at 05:04 in the morning, with a focal depth of 15 km. Meanwhile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center also issued the earthquake with the same data.

So far, no material damage has been reported, but to understand more about this return of seismic tremors in our country, seismologist Damian Koxhaj was interviewed by "Ora News".

" Today's earthquake was relatively small and did not cause material damage. It is an earthquake that is not unexpected, as they have happened before, we are monitoring the situation."

So far we have had some aftershocks from this earthquake, which is positive as the situation is calming down, but as I said, we are monitoring the situation and will see how this event goes.

Albania is a seismic country, but we cannot predict the occurrence of an earthquake, but we can simply monitor the situation.

Albanians need to calm down, as we are a country with seismic activity.

"In the area where the earthquake struck today, there were about 26 other earthquakes earlier in these weeks, which were small and almost not felt at all ," said Koxhaj.
