220 school security officers across the country, here are their duties
Gymnasium "Sami Frashëri" in Tirana

Xhesika Grëmi is one of the 220 security officers operating in the pre-university schools in Albania. Assigned to the high school "Sami Frashëri" in Tirana, it has the duty not only to guarantee the safety of the students, but also to intervene in cases where the students themselves have behavior that violates the rules.

The most frequent cases when he had to intervene with students are those of bullying and online harassment.

"There have been cases of bullying which the students start in the form of a game, even in the part of cybercrime where the harassment starts on social networks and this has become more frequent, at the Sami Frashëri school there is a security group and we get the information through the students" .

In the Ministry of Education, they say that security officers are deployed only in those schools where there is a high number of students. Most of them are in Tirana.

Currently, the number of security officers in schools is 220. Which means that all secondary and higher education schools, or gymnasiums that have a high number of over 100 students, have a security officer and 9-year cycle schools, that have a number of students over 700 have a security officer.

"Only with the new additions to the 9-year schools, about 30 new schools were added and almost 60 security officers are positioned in the schools of Tirana"./Tv Klan
