Anita Likmeta, a young naturalized Italian entrepreneur, is the first Albanian candidate to compete for the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament in the parliamentary elections that take place on September 25.

Likmeta is among the main candidates, in 3 regions, Lombardy, Marche and Lazio, and 5 colleges with the Impegno Civico list of the Democratic Party, which was created by Bruno Tabacci, with the support of the Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

Anita Likmeta's candidacy is an unprecedented historical event for the Albanian community in Italy, which will finally have its institutional representation in the Italian Parliament for the first time.
