Trump accepts Democrats' victory: They did a good job, but it's not a

US President Donald Trump has commented on the results of the midterm elections, congratulating Democrats on their success. In an interview with Fox News, he said that he does not consider the result a personal blow.

"Congratulations to the Democrats. They did a good job. They tried for 11 years and finally got it done, but I don't take this as a knock on myself," the US president said.

Trump praised the first two years of his administration, claiming that the economy and border control have seen remarkable improvements.

"We've had the most extraordinary two years in the history of the presidency in terms of the economy and everything we've accomplished. Look at the border, it was a sieve and within two months it was completely closed. I based my campaign on that, but it's a joke compared to what we've done, because we have all this funding all over the world."

Bringing attention to the situation in several European countries, such as France and Italy, he stated that they are facing great difficulties, while according to him, America is flourishing.

"And if you look at Europe, it's dying. Just look at what's happening in France, Italy, and all these other countries. I mean, they're having a terrible time. Frankly, they may not survive at all. And we're thriving and we want to keep it that way. But I congratulate the Democrats," Trump added.
