OFFICIAL/ Portugal presents the new coach of the national team, will I beat

Presentation day for national team coaches. After Sylvinho signed for Albania, Portugal has also made the new coach official. Roberto Martinez will be the new coach of the Lusitanians, with the 49-year-old Spaniard having signed until the summer of 2026.

The former coach of Everton, Swansea or even Wigan in England, has been part of Belgium since 2016. With the "Devils" Martinez did not manage to win any important trophy, despite the good team and the many talents. From today he starts work for the European 2026, while he told the media that it is the project he wanted.

" I'm very happy to be here, I'm happy to be able to represent one of the most talented teams in the world, the project I wanted .  I understand that there are high expectations and goals, but I also understand that there is a group of great people working to meet our objectives.

The important thing is that we are a very competitive team. When I think about my international career, in six and a half years we were unbeaten in 28 matches for major tournaments. It's a way to make the team competitive ," Martinez said.

Martinez left the Belgium bench after a failed World Cup where he failed to even get past the group stage. The first issue that Martinez will face is the Ronaldo issue, will the new coach invite the Portuguese star who recently decided to leave Europe to move to Saudi Arabia to the Al Nassr club.
