The lawyer of the Football Federation of Kosovo has reacted through a post on social networks regarding the UEFA decision, which gave Romania a 3-0 victory at the table after the game was interrupted due to racist chants from the local fans.
He points out that UEFA did not take into account some violations committed in that match by Romania, which, according to him, could change the decision in CAS.
"The Football Federation of Romania is condemned for racist, xenophobic, discriminatory calls, political messages and other unacceptable behavior. UEFA has made a decision punishing the Romanian Football Federation with a fine of hundreds of thousands of euros and a match without fans, due to the racist, xenophobic, political, discriminatory and unacceptable behavior of its fans, team and officials during the match against Kosovo . This decision has also decided that the result of the match will be 3:0 in favor of Romania. This part of the decision, together with some other violations of Romania that have not yet been taken into account, I consider that they can be changed in CAS, Lausanne in favor of Kosovo because we have a large number of violations and punishments already proven against the Romanian Federation that must determine the interruption of the match and not the action of the Kosovo footballers", wrote Hodaj on "Facebook".
FFK's lawyer insists that Kosovo has sufficient arguments to win the case in CAS.
"It was a very challenging situation after the stoppage of the game, but the fact that our players were right in their actions and the chants 'Kosovo is Serbia' and 'Serbia, Serbia' were condemned by UEFA, and on the other hand, making the eagle with hands was not convicted, they make me feel good about this part because most of the complaint points prepared by the FFK legal team have been approved".
"The complaint to the FFK, which included clear evidence and irrefutable arguments, played a key role in holding the Romanian side accountable for racist, hateful language and discriminatory behavior. In the future, we must continue to actively complain and demand that UEFA does not allow racism on the football fields under any circumstances", declared Hodaj.
