Black in the world of journalism: farewell to Mario Sconcerti, one of the most prestigious and historic names in Italian sport, was 74 years old and was admitted to the Tor Vergata Polyclinic for routine checks.

Sconcerti, born on October 24, 1948, began his career as a journalist in Florence, at the Corriere dello Sport. He was soon transferred to the Milanese editorial office.

In 1979 he moved to the sports pages of La Repubblica, eight years later he became deputy director at Gazzetta dello Sport and then again at Repubblica (1988) and experience as director at Secolo XIX in 1992.

From 1995 to 2000 he ran Corriere dello Sport before becoming general manager of the Cecchi Gori Group and Fiorentina from which, however, he immediately resigned due to disagreements with Giancarlo Antognoni, then manager of the Purple team. .

The switch to television was made with Steam, then Sky and Rai before becoming a columnist at Mediaset, an experience that began during the 2018 World Cup and was confirmed at Pressing, both on Rete 4 and Italia 1. In recent years he had covered the role of editorialist for Corriere della Sera.

Sconcerti was also a writer, among his works "With Moser from Paris to Roubaix" in 1978, "The History of Football Ideas" in 2009, "Football for the Rich" in 2012 and "The History of Goals" in 2015 .
