"It's almost December and I still haven't received any offer to stay at the club. Maybe I'm more outside than inside. You know I have been in this club for many years, there is no other like it. But, in the end, it's not in my hand." So Mohamed Salah has raised doubts about his future at Liverpool, stating that he has not yet been offered a contract extension, which ends at the end of this season.
Salah spoke to English reporters after Liverpool's 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday, in which he scored twice. He suggested that he is more likely to leave than stay with the Reds, who are currently leading the Premier League.
The Egyptian is 32 years old and has been part of the club since 2017. This season, he has scored 12 goals in 18 appearances. "I'm not going to retire soon, so I'm playing, focusing on this season and trying to win the Premier League and, hopefully, the Champions League. I'm disappointed, but we'll see," declared the former Roma and Fiorentina player.
"I am very professional. Everyone can see my work ethic. I'm just trying to enjoy my football and I'll play at the highest level for as long as possible. I'm doing my best because this is who I am and I try to give everything to myself and the club. We will see what happens next," concluded Salah.
