An unusual event occurred this week in Dutch football, during the Cup match where Heerenveen, led by Robin Van Persie, faced the amateur Quick Boys.
The match in question was notable not only for the fact that the amateurs eliminated the elite team, but also for what happened to Heerenveen's Moldovan striker, Ion Nicolaescu. The player had a swelling in his right eye after a collision a few minutes earlier. But he was continuing the game normally when he blew his nose.
WTF. Zie wat er met dat oog gewerd van Nicolaescu na het snuiten van zijn neus.

Unusually, his eye popped out of its socket as the astonished footballer touched the swollen area where his eye was in an unnatural position, creating a serious sight for all those watching the match on TV.
To everyone's surprise, he continued to play, but was then replaced by coach Van Persie in extra time.
