With 10 days left until the end of the Paris Olympic Games, a strong race is underway among the countries seeking the first place in the list of medals won.
Large countries such as the USA, China, Japan, France or Australia are undoubtedly the main contenders this year as well. They participate with athletes of the highest levels, in many disciplines.
China currently ranks first with 21 medals, followed by France with 26. China holds the top spot because it has won more gold medals, a total of 11, compared to France's 8.
Undoubtedly, Kosovo is a surprise, in 34th place, with two medals in judo, one silver and one bronze, thus leaving behind big countries like Mexico, Ukraine and others.
Albania has not yet managed to win any medals, and remains among the few countries in the world that do not have any Olympic medals.
