Inter Miami are looking to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in a short-term deal that would reunite him with Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo is interested in taking part in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup this summer, as reported by talkSPORT.

Messi's Inter Miami is one of 32 teams that will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, where the winners will receive $125 million.

Inter Miami is in Group A, along with teams like Porto, Al-Ahly and Palmeiras.

The tournament will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13.

Ronaldo currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. While the 40-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, he has reportedly decided to sign a new one-year deal.

However, Ronaldo is reportedly interested in initially signing a short-term deal with a club taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup.

This has paved the way for David Beckham and Inter Miami to make a bold move in the transfer window, with the club reportedly open to bringing together Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami are also said to be able to afford Ronaldo's high wages. The Portuguese icon currently earns £3.18m-a-week at Al-Nassri.

While Ronaldo is said to be eager to take part in this year's FIFA Club World Cup, Messi will be playing in it for the fourth time in his storied career.

Ronaldo has an incredible record in the competition, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in eight appearances across four different editions (2009, 2015, 2017 and 2018).

The Al-Nassri icon has won four FIFA Club World Cups, three during his time at Real Madrid and one with Manchester United.

On the other hand, Messi has scored five goals in five appearances. The 37-year-old represented Barcelona in three different editions (2010, 2012 and 2016), emerging victorious in all of them.
