The dismissal of Thiago Motta risks being a major failure for Juventus.
A technical failure, mainly, with the project entrusted to the Italian-Brazilian coach, which collapsed after just nine months, but above all a burden on the financial accounts of the black and whites, who will have to take measures to avoid major losses.
Yes, because the coach's departure will cost almost 15 million, an amount that will significantly affect the final budget for the season, which Juventus wanted to keep below 32 million to achieve the financial independence required by "Exor" (the company that owns the club).
But saying goodbye to the coach, with salaries to pay for the staff as well, makes the balance sheet more difficult for Juventus, who must review their plans for June, between sales and careful choices for the next coach.
All to avoid a new request from "Exor". Mota's departure, in fact, risks putting the project for the future of the black and white club in difficulty.
All of this, in fact, revolves around the weight of the coach's salary, who in June 2024 signed a three-year contract until 2027, with a salary of 3.5 million euros net per season.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, following the recent capital increase of 200 million euros that took place last year by Exor, the owners have sought financial independence from Juventus in order to achieve profits within the next two seasons.
They have demanded that the black and white club "find a way" to stay within the limits of losses.
For the 2024-2025 season, for example, the limit was set at 32 million, which could be reached without Mota's departure.
But now, the change risks ruining everything. Juventus will be forced to sell at least one player to meet the expectations set by "Exor", or be conditioned in the transfer market.
