Inter's adventure in the Club World Cup stops in the 1/8 finals: the neroli lose 2-0 against Fluminense thanks to a goal in the third minute from German Cano and an extra-time goal from Hercules.

Lautaro and his teammates fail to correct a truly negative approach to the match: the ball circulation by Chivu's players, slow and sterile, almost never troubled Flusao's backline, led by the as usual extraordinary Thiago Silva. Only in the last minutes did Inter manage to create a few chances to take the match to extra time, but an alert Fabio and bad luck (an incredible post by Lautaro and a crossbar by Dimarco when everything was closed) make the Brazilians move forward.

Inter thus bid farewell to the Club World Cup. Fluminense advanced to the round of 16 thanks to Cano's opening goal and Hercules's final goal, which came just 3 minutes after the opening whistle, with the help of Sommer (who didn't make it out of his own net, although the cross into the black and blue area was very slow) and Darmian (who stood watching) in the 94th minute. An unfortunate match, for long periods dominated by the Romanian Chivu's players who came close to taking the lead several times with Lautaro - a miracle from the 44-year-old goalkeeper Fabio and an incredible inside back - and De Vrij who wasted the equaliser completely alone in front of goal.

Fluminense now host Manchester City and Al-Hilal in the quarter-finals. Thiago Silva and his teammates send Inter home in incredible fashion and are now ready for the new challenge.
