Abel Ferreira

Abel Ferreira, the coach of Palmeiras, has shown that money is not everything, even when it comes to offers that come once in a lifetime.

And what the Portuguese refused, would make him the highest paid coach in the world.

Ferreira managed to win the Brazilian football championship for the second year in a row at the management of Palmeiras and there has been no lack of interest in him.

The 44-year-old himself said that he was tired and probably needed a vacation and a new stimulus.

So everyone interpreted this as a "yes" to the latest offer he received from Al Sadd in Qatar, with the Brazilian media insisting that the amount offered would make him the highest paid coach in the world.

But the club today came out with an official statement, explaining that he would not leave the management.

" In a meeting with president Leila Pereira that took place this Friday, the coach has reiterated that he has a contract in force with Palmeiras until December 2024 ," it was written in the announcement of the Brazilian club.
