Barça ends the year with a draw in the Catalan derby

Barcelona couldn't go more than a 1-1 draw in the last game of the year.

In the Catalan derby against Espanyol, Xavi Hernandez's team took the lead in the seventh minute through Marcos Alonso, but failed to maintain this advantage.

In the 73rd minute, Joselu equalized the result with an 11-meter penalty, caused by Marcos Alonso. 5 minutes later, Jordi Alba was shown a second yellow card, leaving Barcelona with 10 men. The number of players on the field was equalized very quickly, only after two minutes, as Vinicius Souza was also punished with the second yellow card.

The result did not change, so with this false step, Barcelona reached the top of the La Liga standings from Real Madrid, who won against Valladolid yesterday. Both teams have 38 points after 15 games played.
