Ancelotti: The reason why I will never say the phrase 'Messi is the best in
Carlo Ancelotti

After a month and a half break due to the World Cup, Carlo Ancelotti sat down again in the Valdebebas press room to analyze the latest news on his team. He did it on the eve of the duel against Valladolid, in which he warned that those who have trained longer will play.

Benzema - "He came back after 10 days off, it was pretty good. He worked with the team and played half an hour and 45 minutes in the friendly. I think he will show all his qualities".

The situation of the team - "We are good. We have recovered Benzema, who is important for us. Even those who have taken a break have returned well, although I will give priority to the players who have been here".

Ancelotti and the Brazilian national team - "I don't know if they are interested, they haven't called me. If they are, I appreciate it. My situation is clear: I am still here, I will never tell Real Madrid that this adventure is over."

Hazard - "I see him well, he has been training regularly. I see it better than before the World Cup. He has done a good job and will use the whole team."

Difficulty after the World Cup – “Assessing what's going to happen is very complicated, it's a calendar that requires a lot of energy. We have the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup. We have a lot of games until March, so we have to make a personal assessment of the player. We have to put the players in good conditions. They had to rest, now there are no rest days. Until February 19, we will play every three days".

Extra time in the World Cup - "I don't know how it happened, but I believe that in the end, sooner or later, football will go to the effective time".

Is "tiki-taka" dead - "No." Touching is very important in football, but it is important to do other things to win games. Sometimes you can't win the game just by tapping, you have to counterattack or something…”

Reinforcements - "The entrance market is closed, because we have an excellent team. I don't know about the departures, because maybe some players who play less want to leave. As for December 2022, I think we are better. We want to improve what we did last year."

How Benzema returned to Madrid - "A very motivated player has returned to us. We are convinced that in the second half of the season he will do a lot for Real Madrid".

Goals conceded - "It's not Courtois' problem, it's everyone's problem. In the second half of the season, it is necessary to defend better".

Endrick – “He is a great player, a great talent. The club has reached an agreement with the family for 2024 and this is good news."

Messi, the best in history - "It's hard to say, I don't know if he is the best in history. It is not fair to talk like that, because every era has very good players. 'Messi is the best in history' will not come out of my mouth. I enjoyed many good players... I trained "Golden Balls" every day. Then I saw Cruyff and Maradona playing…”
