Shendrit Ameti was playing in Germany with the fourth team of Munchen 1860 since 2019. Like every Albanian, he had decided to return home to celebrate the end of the year holidays.

Shendriti was traveling towards Kosovo with his mother and brother, while he hit the vehicle they were traveling with on the Serbia-Kosovo border.

The collision was fatal for the footballer, he died at the age of 24, while two of his family members were also in serious condition. The truck driver immediately left the scene.

" We are shocked by the news of Amet's death. Munchen 1860 mourns his loss. His friendly and likeable nature will always be remembered by all who knew him.
