Al-Hilal club from Saudi Arabia have sent Paris Saint-Germain striker Lionel Messi an offer worth over 400 million euros per year, increasing it by more than 100 million from what was rumored in January.

But it seems that the Argentinian refused, saying that his desire is to continue his football career in Europe and to compete in the Champions League.

This Tuesday, the French daily L'Équipe reported that Messi and PSG are close to a divorce. This is because the Parisian club claims that in order to renew, Messi must accept a large reduction in salary.

Under these conditions, it seems that Barcelona is an option for the world champion. In Spain, they are very optimistic about his return. However, the Catalan club are awaiting the Financial Fair Play report before making any bid for Messi, whose contract expires on June 30.

As things stand, it looks like Messi's future will be either at PSG or at Barcelona. But the football market has shown that there can be surprises.
