In a conference with journalists, the head of the Central Election Commission has announced the dates on which political parties can be registered in the elections, the launch of the campaign and other details related to the local elections of the coming spring.
The local elections of May 14 will cost 2.3 billion lek, while the CEC requires an additional fund of 3 billion lek to be able to vote electronically in 6 other large municipalities of the country, apart from Vora.
Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi said that it is intended to have electronic voting in Tirana, Durrës, Vlorë, Elbasan, Shkodër and Fier, but for this process to become possible, an agreement must be reached between the political parties and their funds should be voted in available. In contrast, there will be electronic voting only in Vora.
Celibashi also announced that the final list of voters will be released on April 9, while he assured that the list has not been affected by the cyber attacks that the country recently fell victim to.
"There is no problem with the election lists, because the system, the database of voters and the registry of civil status has not been exposed", added the State Commissioner of Elections.
The election campaign starts on April 14, i.e. 1 month from the date of the elections and May 8 will be the last deadline that will be allowed for television stations or any other institution to conduct polls.
