The Democratic Party has ready the draft for the new territorial reform. The co-chair of the Special Committee in the Assembly, Dhurata Çupi, in an interview for ABC, declares that the draft will first be presented to the deputies and then it will be public.
"We have a final report, we will present it on Thursday".
Çupi presents for the first time the new municipalities that will be proposed to be added to the administrative division of the country.
"There are proposals for Paskukan. It is an island between two units, it is exceeded by the municipality of Tirana. Or Zall Herri to join Tirana. We have proposed Shengjin and Orikum as municipalities."
Çupi declares that the Democrats' draft will also require the launch of referendums.
"One of the key points is the approval of the law and the functionality of the services."
Despite the democrats' draft, the socialists have declared from the start that the majority will not support an administrative division greater than 61 municipalities, as the final deadline of the special commission for Territorial Reform is September 30.
