The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi has asked the deputies that in the next amendments to the electoral code, the possibility of counting the votes and issuing the result be done in the polling stations, as it was before 2001. Celibashi gave this proposal during reporting to the Law Commission.
According to Celibashi, the proposal "to count where the vote is" can be implemented now that some improvements have been made regarding the security of the process.
"There is a need to reconsider the procedures for counting and issuing the voting result. "It can also be considered a variant of counting and extracting the result in the polling stations, now that we have some improvements regarding the security of the process" , said Celibashi.
Celibashi also stressed the need to clarify and improve the rules for financing political parties and the use of public assets in the campaign, including the administration.
According to the head of the CEC, in the next elections it will be necessary to extend to other units of electronic voting and counting.
