The Central Election Commission, in a response to the "Opinion" show, has clarified the procedure for registering political parties.
In this reaction that accompanies the decision of a part of DP deputies who announce the failure to reach an agreement within the party, the CEC specifies that for the registration, among others, a certification from the Court of the Tirana Judicial District is required.
Clarification from the CEC
The party that seeks to be registered as an electoral subject in the CEC has the obligation to present to this institution, among others, a certificate from the Court of the Tirana Judicial District.
According to the law on political parties, it is this court that maintains the Registry of Political Parties.
This register according to this law contains, among others:
Ordinal registration number;
The full name of the party;
Party initials
The emblem of the party; and the name of the party chairman.
These elements are contained/must be contained in the certification of the Court of the Tirana Judicial District, which is deposited in the CEC when the registration of the party as a subject is required.
