There is no unity in DP, Paloka tells why the negotiations with the Alibeaj-Basha group failed

The Deputy of the Democratic Party, Edi Paloka was the representative from Berisha's group to dialogue with Gazment Bardhi, the representative of the Alibeaj group so that the Democratic Party will come up with a single candidate in the local elections of 2023. But this dialogue process failed and did not no compromise was reached.
Edi Paloka, speaking to journalists from the blue headquarters, said that the group that supports Sali Berisha has not set any conditions except for the primaries, while according to him, the goal of the other side was apparently not cooperation.
"Honestly, even during the talks, I did not have this impression, but I have to say today that reading the statement issued by their group, it seems that at no time was the goal of their group cooperation. It seems that the aim is to destroy the will of the democrats. Reading this statement, I can only draw this conclusion. Throughout the discussions we have had, the DP has announced all the possible modalities so that the combination of both the candidates and that part of the DP that has not yet been engaged in the structures was complete. The only thing about which we did not enter into discussions were the primaries".
Paloka emphasized that no conditions had been set by the group that supports Sali Berisha.
"Apart from the primaries that were indisputable, no other condition. What would be the most logical condition we could come to? If we wanted to, we would ask for cooperation while we are in court and we continue to talk about negotiations. So if it was a condition, we have asked them at least. My impression during the talks was that the talks did not start today with Mr. Bardhi, they started earlier with others, the will for primaries was not discussed before the talks we had".
