The Central Election Commission has accepted the request of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, to be heard as a party in the process where a decision will be taken on the validity of the mandate won by him in the elections of May 14, 2023.
In the session, there was a debate between the representative of SP Eridjan Salianji and Beleri's lawyer on this matter and Ilirjan Celibashi ended it by deciding that due to the legal and direct interest that Mr. Beleri has in this process, he should be present in session.
Although Salianji insisted that a form be found to bring Fredi Beleri to the session today, Celibashi decided that the session on the validity of the mandate be postponed to tomorrow at 10:30.
" We are in the hall. You are on duty and have an obligation to look into this matter. Mr. Beleri does not have other work, to be announced there and to prepare the escort. We just have to find the procedure for Mr. Beleri to come here ", said Eridjan Salianji.
During this time, the CEC will have to solve the formula of how Beleri will be present, which can be physically or through an online communication platform.
" It is legitimate to create the opportunity for him to present his claims in relation to this matter, although an administrative matter of this nature does not necessarily require the acceptance of the interested party. I think that what this party is asking for is too much in my position to discuss the reasons or motives in this process. I don't believe we can do it today. The issue is how we will do it from a technical point of view. I don't know, but maybe we will do it, because we can do it through an electronic communication platform ," said Celibashi.
