Rama 'advice' to Kurti: Fulfill your obligations to the EU, this is
Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama recently gave an interview to the Kosovar media, speaking about the current situation in Kosovo, recent political and regional developments, and the trial in The Hague of former KLA leaders.

Regarding Kosovo's path towards integration into the European Union, Rama said that it is the only way for the state to achieve peace. The Prime Minister stated that Kosovo should not think about Serbia at all in achieving its goals.

"To win peace means to settle down at the table of the democratic community. That's all. To do this, one must not look at Belgrade at all, one must not think about Serbia at all, one must not care at all about what the Serbs say or claim, but one must do one's own duties."

It must do its duties for itself and for its future, not for the Serbs. And these are related to the dialogue but they are related to the European Union and the United States then, which means that if there are 'x' points to be fulfilled on the dialogue table, Kosovo should do them unilaterally and move forward. It doesn't matter at all what Serbia does, let it never do them, there is no problem", said Rama.

The head of the Albanian government emphasized that if Kosovo fulfills its obligations as a state and Serbia does not, then Kosovo is more rightly saying to everyone, "go deal with Serbia, I want my country, I want my way, I want my attention."

Among other things, Rama also spoke about the Special Court in The Hague where the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, accused of war crimes, are being held in custody.

Rama stated that the creation of the Special Court came after a report by Swiss politician Dick Marty titled "Inhumane Treatment of People and Illegal Trafficking of Human Organs in Kosovo" during the war in Kosovo.

Prime Minister Rama also described the witnesses who participated in this process as actors from the Milosevic era.

"If you look at what prompted the creation of the Special Court and what is being discussed in this process, at the end of the day it has been forgotten that the creation of the Court was prompted by the report of the infamous Dick Marty, and there is not a trace, not a sign, not a letter and not a sound related to that organ trafficking, either in that indictment sheet or in the entire development of the process.

"So, here there is a dramatic deviation and it is all a story of insinuations not supported by any convincing evidence, on the contrary supported by super-funny witnesses who look like actors from the Milosevic era," Rama said.
