The Socialist Party has opened this Tuesday applications for the internal competition process for 61 party branch presidents in 61 municipalities of the country. In addition to branch presidents, those who want to become executive secretary in the local branches of the SP or at the county level can also apply, a position which was added through the statutory changes of April 9.

According to the instruction, it is planned that by May 25, the possible candidacies for chairman of the local branches of the Socialist Party will be administered. Applicants must submit the documents at the branch headquarters, as well as electronically at the party headquarters.

The instruction also stipulates that candidates for mayor must have a place of residence and live the life of the party for a period of not less than one year within the territory of the municipality, be a member of the party for a period of not less than three years, have higher education as well as meet the conditions of moral and legal integrity.

"The process of proposing candidacies for mayor of the municipal party is open and it is attended by all structures of the municipal party, the political leader of the district, deputies of that municipality, forums or any prominent member of the SP in the municipality. Requests are submitted to the Socialist Assemblies of Municipalities; also a copy is sent electronically to the headquarters of the Socialist Party at the e-mail address: [email protected] ", it is said in the instruction approved by the General Secretary Damian Gjiknuri.

As for the executive secretaries, the deadline for their selection is June 30. Each candidate for Executive Secretary of the party in the municipality / district fills in the application form, competes with his file which must contain the application, CV and integrity form. The documents can be sent electronically or by mail to the Headquarters of the Socialist Party in Tirana, until June 15, 2022.

The right to request the selection for the position of Executive Secretary has every individual who meets the criteria: to have legal residence not less than 1 year in the territory of the respective municipality / district; to be a member of a party, as a rule for a period of not less than 2 years, to have knowledge of the organization and management of party structures, to have higher education. It is preferred with experience in leading a Socialist Council, coordinator or former electoral coordinator of the municipality, secretary or former secretary of the Municipal Assembly, chairman or former chairman of FRES / FGS, etc. ", it is said in the order of Gjiknur .
