Prime Minister Edi Rama is today in Pristina within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the NATO intervention.

In his speech at the International Conference "Rugova and the West", Rama described Ibrahim Rugova as someone who has marked the history of Albanians and as the most typical Albanian politician.

Rama: I thank you for the invitation and the welcome opportunity to share with you an opinion on the man who has marked the history of Albanians with a trace that is as rare as it is necessary. A unique synthesis between a revolutionary and a citizen.

Rugova, the founder of free Kosovo, was an Albanian who emerged from the mountain sides of our history, an intellectual, a leader and a figure that even today is difficult to summarize.

He was and is the most atypical of an Albanian politician.

When on May 24, 1992, in the so-called election, he declared himself the president of Kosovo, he had the courage for the fact that he did not risk his life, but risked something even more important, what life creates and leaves behind, his name and personality. It was a Donkoshitesque act for many.

The president of hope in the midst of the suppression of all hope had thus far lived among books.
