Under house arrest, Sali Berisha's only window of communication is that of his balcony.
On the third day of the European elections, the Refoundation leader called for the right-wing candidates to be voted on among them Fredi Beleri, who although sentenced to two years in prison for electoral corruption in Albania, is running as a candidate of Kyriakos Mitsotakis' party "New Democracy", in the elections for new EU institutions.
"The fate has led to albanians being more voters in Europe today than in their country. I therefore invite all members and supporters of the DP wherever they are to vote for the centre-right parties. "To vote for Forza Italia in the neighboring country, Nea Democracy, CDU, vote for the Austrian People's Party, vote center-right parties in Croatia, Slovenia and all other countries," berisha said.
While Albanians who are abroad are likely to be voters in Europe but not in their own country, Berisha made a promise.
"I guarantee that in this country other elections will not be held without their vote, without their participation. Let Edi Rama be terrified of their vote, but albania does not have and cannot have without the diaspora and immigration vote," he said.
But while the right and left pledge daily more than to enable diaspora votes in the 2025 elections, when it comes to the actions politics remain in the classroom, as the structure they agreed to in parliament has not produced any concrete results to realize this denied right for Albanian immigrants.
