"Put the microphone in your pocket", Tensions between Boç and
Luciano Boci and Arbjan Mazniku

The meeting of the Special Commission for Territorial Reform was accompanied by debates. The situation escalated to the point where the Democratic co-chair, Luciano Boçi, left the room after a verbal clash with the Socialist co-chair, Arbjan Mazniku.

The debate began during discussions in the committee, when Mazniku intervened, asking Boç to finish speaking, arguing that opposition MPs had monopolized the discussion and were not giving space to representatives of the majority.

In a moment of tension, Mazniku cut off Boç's microphone, an action that caused an immediate reaction from the Democratic MP. The latter described the intervention as unethical and unacceptable for the functioning of the committee.

"My microphone cannot be taken away while I am speaking. I do not accept such interruptions in the committee," Boçi said during the debate, before standing up and leaving the meeting. On the other hand, Mazniku insisted that the opposition had prolonged the discussions for hours without allowing representatives of the majority to take the floor.

Excerpts from the debate:

Boçi: I can close it because it's unethical. Not by taking the microphone away from me...

Mazniku: The opposition spoke, no one from the majority spoke.

Boçi: It is not ethics that interferes with my speech. Now you are overdoing it. I am not asking a question, I am making a statement. I understand that the word question agitates you. I will finish.

Mazniku: This story cannot continue.

Boçi: This challenge is not done in this form because we are also live. I do not accept such challenges in the committee. I do not want anyone to interrupt my presentation, no MP can interrupt us and we cannot intervene as co-chairs. The orchestra stops here.

Mazniku: Give me the floor.

Boci: Don't be a jerk, I'll finish it. What is this interference?

Mazniku: You haven't given the floor to a person from the majority for two hours.

Boçi: Put the microphone in your pocket. This shows your authority.

Mazniku: Don't abuse the space you've been given.

Boçi: Keep it fun.
