Will Rama meet with German Chancellor Merz? Berlin does not confirm

Will there be a meeting between Prime Minister Rama and German Chancellor Merz in Tivat, Montenegro on June 5th on the EU-Western Balkans? And during this meeting, will integration and Germany's position regarding Albania be discussed?

A2 CNN asked the German government, and a spokesperson for the government did not confirm or deny the meeting. The response was that the Chancellor's agenda is made public a week in advance.

"Please note that we generally announce the Chancellor's calendar a week in advance, during the government conference," the German government spokesman said.

As for Germany's stance on Albania's integration, the federal government, through its spokesperson, writes that Germany is strongly committed to the enlargement process, which applies to both Albania and the other countries of the Western Balkans.

"In general, Germany is strongly committed to enlargement, which, of course, also applies to Albania, as well as to the entire Western Balkan countries.

We want them to join the European Union based on merit and the Copenhagen criteria.

"The topic of enlargement is being discussed among EU member states and may be on the agenda at the Western Balkans Summit that will take place soon," said the German government spokesman.
