Prime Minister Rama began his speech at the Intergovernmental Conference with jokes, addressing Cyprus' Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, in Greek, and Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in a "not exactly Slovenian" variant. In return, Rama received a kiss from Kos.

"Dear Marilena, agapi mou! Thank you very much, dear Marta! Don't you love me? I was thinking of saying "Yubim te", "Yubim te" is not exactly the Slovenian variant, but it could be.

"You should see and learn from Albania's love for the EU, the inexhaustible, unconditional love, a love that sometimes brings suffering, but here we are, but of course we are very happy," said Rama.
