Dutch Ambassador: Fight against corruption, priority for Albania in the EU

The Embassy of the Netherlands has reacted regarding the Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference.

In a reaction on Facebook, the Dutch ambassador to Albania, Reinout Vos, praised Albania's progress in the European integration process, during the Intergovernmental Conference taking place today in Brussels between Albania and the European Union.

In his statement, the Dutch diplomat emphasized that achieving the interim objectives in the "Fundamentals" chapter group constitutes an important step on Albania's path towards EU membership.

He congratulated Albanian citizens, as well as representatives of politics, public administration and the justice system for their contribution and commitment to this process.

"Albania is part of the European family. The Netherlands strongly supports its membership in the European Union," Vos declared.

According to him, strengthening the rule of law, protecting fundamental rights and guaranteeing a pluralistic democracy remain at the foundation of European values ​​and directly affect the pace of Albania's negotiations with the EU.
