The leadership of the Democratic Party has approved the party's new statute, which was passed unanimously despite the discussions and debates held during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the list for the National Council has also been approved, but it is expected to undergo some minor changes before official publication.
Meanwhile, Sali Berisha had described this meeting as "a meeting with very important decisions."
This is because, according to him, today's meeting will approve statutory changes, lists and proposals for the National Council, as well as approve the group that will lead the Assembly.
"We finalize with our National Assembly the election process in the Democratic Party and sanction the foundations for a true transformation of the Democratic Party," said Berisha.
"A transformation that presupposes or implies the renewal of our political force. It implies organization, organization, organization for this force. It implies its modernization. And last and most importantly, it implies the elaboration of the vision of this party in these pillars. The DP will achieve that necessary transformation to fulfill its historical mission, and the historical mission of the DP is the return of the free vote of Albanian citizens and the return of the DP to power.
In all this effort, we aim to engage, to mobilize every potential to fulfill our difficult mission," Berisha said, adding that these efforts are supported by consultation with the membership.
Among other things, Berisha emphasized that this renewal means new memberships.
"The DP, at the organizational level, will be the party of the section. We are a party of the territory, so we are a party of the section. And, absolute priority in its pyramid is given to the foundation, which is the section. Renewal means new memberships. It means the elimination of any barrier that prevents new memberships.
It means opening the doors at the section level and at all levels for new arrivals, new commitments. I guarantee you that there are thousands and thousands of democrats who are ready to join and take responsibility, but who are not offered this opportunity. They are not offered this environment.
It is not offered to them because, as I have emphasized and I emphasize, the disease of oppositionism is inertia, it is apathy. And this disease makes us indifferent to this process that is vital for the DP.
"Today, more than ever, the DP needs efficiency. The efficiency of each of its leaders, of its members. It needs indicators to measure this efficiency so that its potentials can be utilized to the maximum extent," the democratic leader further declared.
He also emphasized how important it is to exploit every potential offered by digitalization and "artificial wisdom so that we can multiply our power, our capabilities."
Berisha said that the Democrats have the great fortune and special privilege of consulting, examining and re-examining the program of this party with the best think tanks that exist today in Europe and the USA.
