Residents of Rrjoll and Durrës gathered together in front of the Albanian Parliament, shortly before the start of the session, protesting for their properties.
The citizens of Velipoja oppose the construction of the resort by the "Gener 2" company of businessman and publisher Bashkim Ulaj, as according to them the area is their land.
They have also addressed the Prosecutor's Office with the property documents in their hands, as well as the Shkodra Municipality to demand an account for the construction permit issued for Ulaj.
Meanwhile, the residents of Durrës are protesting the TID project for the revitalization of the historic 'Edidamn' boulevard, when the expropriation of 74 families is foreseen for the revitalization of this plan.
"The participants here have their right to demand the property that is most precious. No one dares to bow our heads, kill us or trample on our dignity. I am from Tirana, and our property was stolen. These people are corrupt to the core. They have been killing and robbing us for 35 years. We will never give up, we have our right. This is the parliament of crime, they have filled their pockets by stealing state property, private property, but they have not dared to steal our dignity," said a resident.
Residents are demanding from the state and the municipality of Durrës an accurate valuation of the property or the provision of an apartment in Durrës, while protesting against the rental bonus that the municipality has previously provided for them.
Citizens are demanding protection from MPs to raise their voices about their problems while accusing the government of theft. MP Agron Shehaj and Redi Muçi have also joined their protest.
"This is actually a political issue because the properties are not stolen only by the oligarch, the oligarch steals them with the corrupt political class we have in Parliament. No one can steal their properties without their permission, they are partners. Regarding the properties, people are tired and may give up, but do not give up. We will be by your side whenever you demand your rights," said Shehaj.
