Presidents Rexhep Meidani, Alfred Moisiu and Bamir Topi have been declared honorary citizens of Drenas Municipality, for which they expressed their gratitude. At the solemn meeting of the Municipal Assembly, the former presidents did not leave without mentioning the fragile situation in the north of the country, stressing that united Kosovo and Albania will overcome any challenge.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, has appreciated these three very important personalities for the Albanian nation.
"These three rare personalities are from different fields but with the same path and vision, that of the progress of Albania and the Albanian nation wherever it lives. This day that you are accepting the title of honorary citizen is the marked day for us, and it is not by chance that with the congratulations for honorary citizens, we also wish you the day of the Kosovo Army. For honorary citizens of Drenas, as president, professor, you have promoted the values of Albanians wherever you have been. You have presented the Republic of Albania and at the same time the Republic of Kosovo, where Kosovo had no access, you were for Kosovo when the road to liberation was lit so strongly that our physical being was endangered, therefore you are even more deserving of this title as an honorary citizen. Together with allies we won the war, but without Albania this would not have been achieved and Kosovo will not forget this".said Lladrovci.
The ambassador of Albania, Qemal Minxhozi, was also present at this event. While talking about unity among Albanians, Minxhozi said that the situation the country is going through is difficult, but Kosovo and Albania will get through it.
"It has been the most intense years of efforts and these three presidents in different periods to unite Albanian politics as factors of unity, with one voice to support Kosovo to achieve their aspirations... The situation that Kosovo is going through is a difficult situation but difficult situations are spent with friends, comrades and brothers and this hall has united us all with a common goal that every sacrifice, difficulty, Kosovo and Albania should be together and go through it together", Minxhozi stressed.
Former president Rexhep Meidani expressed his excitement about this title, until he said that he dreams that one day the two countries will be united with one anthem.
"I dream of one thing to be together, and these thoughts came to my mind at the time when the anthems of the flag were executed and we still have two anthems. When will the day come that we have only one, and I believe that the day will come when we will be together, and precisely for this life we will fight together and be all the time in harmony with each other to help Kosovo and Albania . Even if politics doesn't understand, we can influence politics and achieve this big dream again, the dream of the same flag and the same anthem", says Mediani.
Former resident Alfred Moisiu also expressed his gratitude for the title he received.
Se shqiptarët të bashkuar do ta përballojnë çdo sfidë e tha edhe ish-presidenti Besim Topi.
