On February 27, the Supreme Court will review the request of former President Ilir Meta, who has requested release from prison through a recourse.

In the Consultation Chamber, judges Ilir Panda, Albana Boksi and Medi Bici will review not only the appeal of the former head of state, but also that of MP Monika Kryemadhi.

The former president was arrested in October last year, and is now requesting a lighter security measure, arguing that the request is related to his being the leader of the second opposition force in the country and the situation on the eve of the May 11 parliamentary elections.

Ilir Meta is accused by SPAK of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets.
