The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, has called on Albanian emigrants in Great Britain to come and invest in Albania and take advantage of the new government initiative to amnesty the income earned from legal activities.

During a conversation with Albanians working and living in London together with two other MPs Blerina Gjylameti and Lavdrim Krashi, Gjiknuri underlined that from the new initiative, young people working and living in London can benefit from the amnesty only for income from activities legal.

"On the other hand, we are undertaking another very bold policy. We will soon adopt the law on fiscal amnesty. I know the reality very well. People here can work under other names, people here can work in the black, they work in construction companies, in agriculture.

This is a good opportunity that the Albanian government is doing to legalize, to amnesty all this money that comes from the toil of many Albanians. Here in London many people have come with a different identity than the time in the 90's. Sometimes they have difficulty with bank transfers for their income. Why? Because the authorities demand accountability. They are bureaucracy, there is prejudice. That is how the world is full of prejudices. No these London boys came, no London boys came, why did you get what the London boys have ?! People like everyone else are, are people who have taken their risks, want to build their lives. This is a very good opportunity. Why? Because you have the opportunity to legalize your money and invest it in Albania with a minimum tax payment. In addition to legalizing your money this will create the necessity to pursue investments there. Why not buy a property in Albania why not build an economic activity. Already the opportunities are very good and in agro-tourism. "Most of you probably come here from different regions of Albania", stressed Gjiknuri.
