Former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali has reacted to the sentencing of former KLA leaders by the Special Court in The Hague. She described the difference in sentences between Albanians and Serbs as scandalous, stating that Albanians have been sentenced to about 150 years more in prison.
Spiropali said that Serbia was responsible for massacres against Albanians in Kosovo, while the KLA stood up for freedom and resistance. She also mentioned the thousands of victims of the war in Kosovo, emphasizing that many killed civilians still have no graves and that those responsible for the massacres have not been punished.
According to Spiropali, KLA fighters tried to protect women, children and the elderly during the war.
Spiropali concluded his reaction by stating that Serbia intends to distort responsibility for the war and that international law has been seriously violated.
Elisa Spiropali: It is scandalous that 150 years more in prison are given to Albanians than to Serbs. While Serbia was made available to carry out massacres against Albanians. On the other hand, Albanians rose up for freedom and resistance. 13 thousand were killed in Kosovo and many civilians massacred without graves, their graves still not found and those who committed these massacres are unpunished and the KLA rose up to fight this genocide, to protect women, children and the elderly. According to the accusation, Jakup Krasniqi deserves to die in prison. Serbia wants to distort its responsibilities. International law was seriously violated yesterday.
