The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, says that Sali Berisha's Reestablishment group together with Edi Rama and his government are attacking the new justice system, which they "regret" already.
During the meeting with a group of democrats in Tirana, Basha said that the politicians who for 33 years have not asked about justice, have today attacked SPAK, which is actually fighting corruption in the country.
Basha said that he and the DP led by him support 100% SPAK.
Part of Basha's speech:
The fight for personal interests for two years within the DP has come with a very large bill for Albania and the Albanians. A part of us has experienced that time when Albania had no opposition. We cannot and must not go back to that time. Now that SPAK's investigations are failing one after the other, they have turned to attack him. And this is not a time for dilemmas, but for clear positions: do we support justice or not.
In front of us we have a caste of politicians who for 33 years have not asked about the law. Therefore, we should ask these politicians: Should we or should we not support SPAK? Now that justice has started to act, should we or should we not support SPAK. We understand that Edi Rama has regretted the new justice. Isn't this the time for the opposition to stand by his side to put impunity before the law. How can you be against justice, when you are against corruption? DP has solved this dilemma, 100% in support of SPAK and justice.
