Albanians will learn the name of the president on Saturday, but do the socialists know this name? The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla says no.
"If we had the name, we would not have needed to call either the leadership of the Socialist Party or the parliamentary group. "There are two collegial bodies according to the hierarchy, the presidency is the highest decision-making body of the Socialist Party, then there is the parliamentary group that will vote in the plenary session, or that will guarantee at least 74 votes for the next president," he said. on the NOW show with Erla Mëhilli.
Meanwhile, Balla regrets that the opposition did not nominate Majlinda Bregu for President.
Balla did not comment on whether he rules out the possibility of Bregu running for the SP by himself, but praised the former MP and former Democratic minister.
"I have a very positive assessment with Mrs. Bregu. I am very sorry that the opposition did not nominate Mrs. Bregu ", declared Balla.
The leader of the socialist parliamentary group said he would vote for Ardian Dvorani as President if approved by the SP leadership.
Asked by journalist Erla Mëhilli if the names of Bregu and Dvorani are on the list of names that will be discussed on Saturday in the SP Presidency, he did not deny this.
He said he hoped the Socialist candidate for President would be supported by more than 74 deputies.
"Albania must have a president as accepted as possible by all Albanians. That is why we said that we do not want a president of the Socialist Party, but of all Albanians ", said Balla.
