The head of the SP Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has stated that they will not accept any candidacy proposals for the new President from the Democratic Party and Enkelejd Alibeaj, unless the majority proposes candidacies for President.

He has stated that he does not agree with the conditions set by the PD parliamentary group, as the majority also has the right to nominate candidates for President.

"What I regret is the insistence of the Democratic Party not to dialogue in this process. We only had a written approach from Alibeaj. I say here today, from tomorrow at 8 am until Alibeaj wants, historically regardless the final result, always from 2002 onwards when there was a negotiation process, the parties sat down and neither set any conditions.

I am saying here that we do not accept a proposal coming from PD and Alibeaj to enter a process where PD proposes four candidacies, we have two to choose from and from these two then we agree on one. I agree to develop this process for the candidacy to elect for the ombudsman. This is the decision we have made. "The consensual president is for the opposition to come up with a proposal, but we also have the right to propose,  " Balla said on the "Open" show.

Recall that in the first 3 rounds, the President is elected with 84 votes, while in the last two rounds 71 ​​votes are enough.
