Over 2,000 State Police officers are committed to guaranteeing order and security during today's protest in Tirana, on the 19th day of the student protest.
In their support, the Democratic Party is also in the square today, holding its second national rally since the start of the student revolt.
Police forces are positioned mainly at the back of the building. Water tankers with pressurized water are also on standby, as well as Rapid Intervention Forces personnel, equipped with special equipment.
The security operation involved the Eagle forces, the National Security Forces, Tirana police officers, civilian agents, and drones to monitor the situation.
In addition to the increased police presence, protesters will also be monitored through high-resolution security cameras and drones, with the aim of identifying and documenting any potential legal violations.
The rally is taking place under the terms of the new normative act on protests, which gives additional powers to the State Police and provides for administrative sanctions for violators. Fines range from 10 thousand to 500 thousand lek, depending on the violation, including disobeying the order to disperse the rally and covering the face.
Today's protest marks the second national rally of the Democratic Party in support of students since the protests began in the capital.
