Scientists have discovered a rare, ocean-covered planet called TOI-733b. Foreign media reports that the discovered planet is roughly twice the size of Earth.
It is known that the planet is located 245 light years away. Density measurements suggest that TOI-733b may be an ocean planet with ubiquitous water and possibly intelligent life.
Other theories suggest that TOI-733b lost its hydrogen and helium, and instead retained an atmosphere filled with water vapor or reformed a secondary atmosphere of heavier elements.
However, some data suggest that TOI-733b's atmosphere is slowly being depleted, which may be due to its proximity to the heat of its star. If the heat of the star it orbits is slowly evaporating its atmosphere, then it may turn into a rocky planet.
