Hailey Welch, an American girl who became an internet sensation after a viral video, appears to be in trouble with the law after promoting a cryptocurrency.

Welch, also known as the "Hawk Tuah" girl, launched a cryptocurrency called "$HAWK" and publicized it to many listeners of her podcast.

The cryptocurrency “$HAWK” is part of what are called “memecoins”, or digital currencies that originate from a humorous “meme”, such as the most famous of them “DOGE” coin. Generally, these types of cryptocurrencies are considered high-risk to invest in.

This is what happened with the American beauty's digital currency, Hawk, which lost 95 percent of its value in a single day.

Therefore, recently, many investors in this currency have decided to sue people associated with the currency in question.

This is not the first time that celebrities or “influencers” have been at the center of scandals after endorsing such coins, which are part of fraudulent “pump and dump” schemes. Simply put, they invest in these coins when their value is negligible, and then call on their followers to also invest, artificially increasing the value of the digital currency.

At this moment, they withdraw their staggering profits, causing the value of the currency to fall to extremely low levels, leaving all those other investors who supported them "with their finger in their mouth".

For almost two weeks, Hailey has not appeared publicly or on her podcast.
