He is already an angel!
18 years old... until the end with her characteristic smile, Gerta Allushi passed away in a hospital in Italy where she lived with her family after a serious illness that she discovered when she was 14 years old.
Even though I don't know them, I express my deepest condolences to the family!
But what impressed me is the letter that the little one left and her desire to study and continue life, just like before.
You can read it below:
" One thing for which I have often been scolded by my family and loved ones, but for which at the same time I am praised, is the fact that I continued to study and do what I always did, at every moment of the illness, even in the most difficult ones.
I always thought it was the only choice I had, in the end I told myself, I'm a teenager, what else can I do?! I in no way wanted to feel different, or just be seen as a sick girl, even though I was.
Now that I think about it, I could have easily put it all on hold because I had so much to think about and suffer through. But what would be the point? Simply, I would have closed in on myself and let the disease get the best of me, punish me… and imprison me.
So I decided to continue living my life as usual, studying, meeting my friends, exploring every activity opportunity that was offered to me, albeit with some limitations. If I hadn't done this, I would have deprived myself of many moments, acquaintances and experiences that changed me as a person and my perspective on things.
I think it was a choice that gave me the opportunity to be free, to live the life I would have lived if I hadn't been sick and not let the disease condition me.
I can't say that everything has been simple, even on occasions I have tried harder than necessary, but when I think about it, I say that it was worth it. I decided to be free, to exist and live despite the disease .
