When your phone's battery is dying, meaning it's less than 20% or 10%, there's something you can do if you want to extend your battery life a little more. You have to put it in low power mode to save yourself running all the way home to the charger or looking for one somewhere around.

It's a pretty quick and easy trick where iOS (the operating system) limits or disables features to help the battery last a little longer.

What is Low Power Mode?

Low Power Mode is an iOS setting that disables certain phone features to save battery power when it's low. Your phone will ask you if you want to turn on low power mode when your battery drops below 20%, and then again below 10%.

Experts say this type of mode reduces the amount of power the phone uses to make it last as long as possible. You can tell when you are in low power mode because the battery icon will be yellow.

What features does low power mode disable?

-Disables 5G (except for video publishing)

- Turns off the mobile screen after 30 seconds of inactivity

– Decreases screen brightness

-Reduces screen refresh rate

-Eliminates some visual effects

-Stops iCloud Photos syncing

-Pauses automatic downloads

-Stops receiving emails

Low power mode also disables viewing of high-quality videos, disables the display and auto-opening of videos.

How to enable low power mode on mobile?

You can enable it manually by going to Settings then Battery and enabling low power mode. But you can also activate via Siri.
